Club Site Security

We have been informed that one of our members has accidentally published the location and combination lock number for the access gate to the site on social media.

The Committee are very concerned about this and have investigated this breach of security.

Having done so, we are satisfied that it was accidental with the culprit being aware of the error and is apologetic.

The breach is limited to a small number of fellow archers included within a private WhatsApp group.

Bearing this is mind, we have decided, for the moment, to leave the lock number unchanged and to monitor the situation.

The logistics of changing the lock number, reprinting 230 membership cards and posting them out creates problems which we feel outweighs the risk.

However, will all members please be vigilant. If there is evidence of non-members on the site (who are not signed in as bona-fide guests of current members) we may need to reconsider this decision.

Will all members also please note that:

COMMUNICATING THE ACCESS CODE TO THE SITE TO OTHERS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

IF THERE IS EVIDENCE OF THIS HAPPENING AGAIN, THE CULPRIT WILL BE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION WHICH MAY RESULT IN THEIR MEMBERSHIP BEING PERMANENTLY WITHDRAWN.
