About 40 members took advantage of good weather to compete in the 2017 club championships. 20 3-D targets were set out - each with two pegs so we could shoot around twice giving a total of 40 targets. The course was specifically set to encourage interaction and socialising which most archers thoroughly enjoyed.
Medals were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each of the bow classes with an overall club champion decided on a handicap system - which is only understood by the membership secretary!!
The overall winner was Sarah Parker with Denis Alston second and Bree Jenkins in third place. Next year we'll have to look carefully at the handicap system so that bow classes other than American Flat Bow have a chance!!
It was a little disappointing that with 200 members we only get 40 to turn out for the competition. Even so, everyone who attended seemed to enjoy themselves.
The full results can be viewed on the Shoot Results and Reports page and a number of photographs have been uploaded to the Photo Galleries page.
